For reconstitution, add sterile, distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of 1 mg/mL. Gently shake to solubilize the protein completely. Do not vortex. Reconstituted products should be stored at -80 °.
Omalizumab with trade name Xolair, is an FDA-approved drug for the treatment of moderate to severe persistent asthma in adults and adolescents (12 years of age and above). It is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody. It selectively binds to human immunoglobulin E (IgE). Omalizumab inhibits the binding of IgE to the high-affinity IgE receptor (FcERI) on the surface of mast cells and basophils.
