Description

Reagent used in organic synthesis. Unncatalyzed reaction of silyl ketene acetals with oxalyl chloride yeilds symmetrical pulvinic acids. Catalytic syntheses of N-heterocyclic ynones and ynediones by in situ activation of carboxylic acids with oxalyl chloride. Oxalyl chloride was reportedly used in the first synthesis of dioxane tetraketone.

Anwendungen
Reagenz für die organische Synthese. Die unkatalysierte Reaktion von Silylketeneacetalen mit Oxalylchlorid ergibt symmetrische Pulvinsäuren. Katalytische Synthesen von N-heterocyclischen Ynonen und Ynedionen durch In-situ-Aktivierung von Carbonsäuren mit Oxalylchlorid. Oxalylchlorid wurde angeblich bei der ersten Synthese von Dioxan-Tetraketon verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Es reagiert mit Wasser.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Fern von starken Oxidationsmitteln, Wasser, Feuchtigkeit, Licht, Basen, Alkalimetallen, Alkoholen und Dimethylformamid aufbewahren.
