A saturated fatty acid. Palmitic acid is a saturated fatty acid used in hair care, cosmetics, soaps, paint, rubber, food, pharmaceuticals, animal feed and textiles. It is used to prepare sodium palmitate which is a natural additive in organic products. It is involved in the preparation of cetyl alcohol utilized in the preparation of detergents and cosmetics.

Anwendungen
Eine gesättigte Fettsäure. Palmitinsäure ist eine gesättigte Fettsäure, die in Haarpflegeprodukten, Kosmetika, Seifen, Farben, Gummi, Lebensmitteln, Pharmazeutika, Tierfutter und Textilien eingesetzt wird. Sie wird zur Herstellung von Natriumpalmitat verwendet, das ein natürlicher Zusatzstoff in organischen Produkten ist. Sie kommt bei der Herstellung von Detergenzien und Kosmetika zum Einsatz.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in heißem Alkohol, Aceton, Benzol, Ethylether, Amylacetat, Propylalkohol und Chloroform. Schwer löslich in kaltem Alkohol und Petrolether. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Reduktionsmitteln und Basen.
