Description
Phosphorus acid is used as an intermediate in the preparation of other phosphorus compounds like potassium phosphite, ammonium phosphite and calcium phosphite. It is actively involved in the preparation of phosphites like aminotris(methylenephosphonic acid) (ATMP), 1-hydroxyethane 1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP) and 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic Acid (PBTC), which find application in water treatment as a scale or corrosive inhibitor. It is also used in chemical reactions as a reducing agent. Its salt, lead phosphite is used as PVC stabilizer. It is also used as precursor in the preparation of phosphine as well as an intermediate in the preparation of other phosphorus compounds.

Phosphorsäure wird als Zwischenprodukt bei der Herstellung anderer Phosphorverbindungen wie Kaliumphosphit, Ammoniumphosphit und Calciumphosphit verwendet. Sie ist aktiv an der Herstellung von Phosphiten wie Aminotris(Methylenphosphonsäure) (ATMP), 1-Hydroxyyethan1,1-Diphosphonsäure (HEDP) und 2-Phosphonobutan--1,2,4Tricarbonsäure (PBTC) beteiligt, die in der Wasseraufbereitung als Kalk- oder korrosiver Inhibitor Anwendung finden. Wird auch in chemischen Reaktionen als Reduktionsmittel verwendet. Sein Salz, Bleiphosphit wird als PVC-Stabilisator verwendet. Wird auch als Vorstufe bei der Herstellung von Phosphin sowie als Zwischenprodukt bei der Herstellung anderer Phosphorverbindungen verwendet.
