Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) shows the application in biocompatibility, avoiding accumulation in tissue, and rapid clearance from the bloodstream. It is also adapted to many different functions for both protein and small drug conjugation. It also acts as a perfect substitute for poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone). It is also used as an adhesion promoter in coatings and heat sealing. It behaves as a hydrophilic block and utilized in the synthesis of amphiphilic diblock copolymers by reacting with poly(1,3-trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) as a hydrophobic block.
