Potassium hexacyanoferrate(II) trihydrate is widely used in anticaking agent for both road and table salt. It is involved in the purification of tin and separation of copper from molybdenum ores. It plays a vital role in the in production of wine and citric acid. In analytical chemistry, it is used to determine the concentration of potassium permanganate. It is in combination with potassium ferricyanide and phosphate buffered solution acts as buffer for beta-galatosidase. Further, it is used as fertilizers for plants.

Anwendungen
Kaliumhexacyanoferrat(II)-Trihydrat wird häufig in Antiklumpmitteln für Straßen- und Speisesalz verwendet. Es wird zur Aufreinigung von Zinn und der Trennung von Kupfer von Molybdänerzen verwendet. Es spielt eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Herstellung von Wein und Zitronensäure. In der analytischen Chemie wird es zur Bestimmung der Konzentration von Kaliumpermanganat verwendet. In Kombination mit Kaliumferricyanid und phosphatgepufferter Lösung wirkt es als Puffer für Beta-Galactosidase. Darüber hinaus wird es als Düngemittel für Pflanzen verwendet.

Wasserlöslich. Unlöslich in Ethanol und Äther.

Hinweise
Beginnt Wasser bei 60 0C zu verlieren, wasserfrei bei 100 0C. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln und starken Säuren.
