Rubrene is an organic semiconductor used in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic field-effect transistors. It is used as a sensitizer in chemoluminesence. It is also used to prepare single crystal transistors. It acts as a reagent for chemiluminescence research and for transition metal complex ligation. Further, it is used as a p-type organic semiconductor.

Anwendungen
Rubren ist ein organischer Halbleiter, der in organischen Leuchtdioden (OLEDs) und organischen Feldeffekttransistoren verwendet wird. Wird als Sensibilisator in der Chemolumineszenz verwendet. Wird auch zur Herstellung von Einzelkristalltransistoren verwendet. Dient als Reagenz für die Chemolumineszenzforschung und für die Übergangsmetall-Komplexligation. Wird außerdem als organischer p-förmiger Halbleiter verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in heißem Toluol. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Hinweise
Luftempfindlich. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
