Sodium diethyldithiocarbamate trihydrate is a spin trapping reagent used in conjunction with ferrous ion to detect nitric oxide in brain, kidney, liver and other tissues. It is used as sensitive reagent for the determination of copper, rubber vulcanization accelerator and finds application in the determination of other metals such as zinc, cobalt, platinum and palladium. Furthermore, it is an inhibitor of superoxide dismutase, ascorbate oxidase and other enzymes as well as inhibits the induction of macrophage nitric oxide synthase.

Anwendungen
Natriumdiethyldithiocarbamattrihydrat ist ein Spin-Trapping-Reagenz, das in Verbindung mit Eisen-Ionen zum Nachweis von Stickoxid in Gehirn, Niere, Leber und anderen Geweben verwendet wird. Es wird als empfindliches Reagenz für die Bestimmung von Kupfer-, Gummi-Vulkanisationsbeschleuniger verwendet und findet Anwendung bei der Bestimmung anderer Metalle wie Zink, Kobalt, Platin und Palladium. Darüber hinaus ist es ein Inhibitor der Superoxiddismutase, Ascorbatoxidase und anderer Enzyme und hemmt die Induktion der makrophagen Stickstoffmonoxidsynthase.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Ethanol, Methanol und Aceton. Unlöslich im Äther.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
