Sodium trifluoroacetate is used in acid catalyzed reactions. It is also used as an intermediate for active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). Further, it acts as a precursor for the trifluoromethylation of aldehydes using copper(I) halide as a catalyst.

Anwendungen
Natriumtrifluoracetat wird in säurekatalysierten Reaktionen verwendet. Es wird auch als Zwischenprodukt für pharmazeutische Wirkstoffe (active pharmaceutical ingredients, API) verwendet. Darüber hinaus fungiert es als Vorläufer für die Trifluormethylierung von Aldehyden, wobei Kupfer(I)-Halogenid als ein Katalysator verwendet wird.
