Beschreibung

Biosynthetic precursor to all steroids Squalene is used as a precursor to steroids and ergosterol and as an immunologic adjuvant in vaccines. It plays a vital role in the preparation of cholesterol, steroid hormones and vitamin D. It serves as a lubricant for fatty acid surfactant films adsorbed on iron oxide surfaces.

Anwendungen
Squalan ist ein biosynthetischer Vorläuferstoff für Steroide und Ergosterol und wird als immunologisches Adjuvans in Impfstoffen verwendet. Spielt eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Synthese von Cholesterin, Steroidhormonen und Vitamin D. Dient als Schmiermittel für oberflächenaktive Fettsäuren, die an Eisenoxidoberflächen adsorbiert werden.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Diethylether und Aceton. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
