Succinimide is used in organic syntheses and in industrial silver plating processes. It is also used as anticonvulsant drugs such as ethosuximide, phensuximide and methsuximide. Further, it is used to form covalent bonds between proteins, peptides and plastics. In addition to this, it is used as an important raw material for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds through N-acyliminium cyclizations.

Anwendungen
Succinimid wird in organischen Synthesen und in industriellen Silberplattierungsprozessen eingesetzt. Es wird auch als Antikonvulsivum wie Ethosuximid, Phensuximid und Methsuximid verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es zur Bildung kovalenter Bindungen zwischen Proteinen, Peptiden und Kunststoffen verwendet. Löslich in Wasser und Ethanol. Unlöslich in Äther und Chloroform.
