Tetra-n-butylammonium hydroxide, 40% w/w aq. solution is used as a phase-transfer catalyst in organic synthesis especially for alkylation and condensation reactions. It is used as a curing accelerator for epoxy resins. It is also used in preparation of dichlorocarbene from chloroform.

Anwendungen
Tetra-n-Butylammoniumhydroxid, 40 % w/w wässrige Lösung wird als Phase-Transfer-Katalysator in der organischen Synthese insbesondere für Alkylierung und Kondensationsreaktionen verwendet. Es wird als Härtungsbeschleuniger für Epoxidharze verwendet. Es wird auch zur Herstellung von Dichlorocarben aus Chloroform verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit gängigen organischen Lösungsmitteln.

Hinweise
Luftempfindlich und hygroskopisch. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Säuren und korrodiert Metall.
