Tocilizumab (Actemra) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that is developed by Hoffmann-La Roche and Chugai for the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, a severe form of arthritis in children. Tocilizumab binds to the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R) and blocks its interaction with interleukin 6 (IL-6), hindering IL-6 from exerting its pro-inflammatory effects.Spezifikation
