Esters derived from trans-4-methoxycinnamic acid are effective absorbers of UV radiation. The starting material was trans-4-methoxycinnamic acid and 3,5dimethoxybenzoic acid methyl ester in isolated avenanthramide alkaloids synthsis. trans-4-Methoxycinnamic acid was converted into its acid chloride (yield 98%) with thionyl chloride. Employed in organic synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, synthetic anti-adrenergic drugs esmolol, cosmetics ultraviolet absorption.

Anwendungen
Ester, die aus Trans-4-Methoxycinnamin-Säure gewonnen werden, sind wirksame Absorber von UV-Strahlung. Das Ausgangsmaterial war Trans-4-Methoxycinnamic-Säure und 3,5-Dimethoxybenzoic-Säure-Methylester in isolierter Avenanthramid-Alkaloiden-Synthese. Trans-4-Methoxycinnamin-Säure wurde mit 98 Thionylchlorid in das entsprechende Säurenchlorid (Ausbeute in %) umgewandelt. Eingesetzt in der organischen Synthese von pharmazeutischen Zwischenprodukten, synthetischen antiadrenergen Drogen, Esmolol, Kosmetika mit UV-Absorption.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Ethanol, Ethylacetat und anderen organischen Lösungsmitteln.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Von starken Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten.
