Triethylene glycol is used as a plasticizer, as an additive for hydraulic fluids and brake fluids, and as a disinfectant. It is an active component of certain pigments, printing dyes, inks and paste. It finds application as a liquid desiccant and used in the dehydration of natural gas, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and air conditioning systems. It plays as an important role in anti-freeze and de-icing products, cleaning and furnishing care products, lubricant and greases.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.

Anwendungen
Triethylenglycol wird als Weichmacher, als Additiv für Hydraulikflüssigkeiten und Bremsflüssigkeiten und als Desinfektionsmittel verwendet. Ist ein aktiver Bestandteil bestimmter Pigmente, Druckfarben, Farben und Pasten. Findet Anwendung als flüssiges Trockenmittel und wird bei der Dehydrierung von Erdgas, Kohlendioxid, Schwefelwasserstoff und Klimaanlagen verwendet. Spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei Frostschutzmittel- und Enteisungsprodukten, Reinigungs- und Einrichtungspflegeprodukten, Schmiermitteln und Schmierfetten.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Wasser, Ethanol, Aceton, Benzol, Toluol, Essigsäure, Glycerin, Pyridin und Aldehyden. Leicht mischbar mit Diethylether und Chloroform. Unmischbar mit Öl, Fett, Petrolether und den meisten Kohlenwasserstoffen.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, Säuren und Basen.
