Melanotan II is a synthetic analog of the melanocortin peptide hormone α-MSH. Effects of its use include melanogenesis and aphrodesia. Clinical development ceased in 2003 with no products FDA approved, but melanotan II products are currently sold and purchased online. Acts as an agonist for MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R. Provided as 1mg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer.
