2,4,6-Triiodophenol is used as an iodinated disinfection by product formed during chlorination of sewage effluents. It is also used as a potent thyroid disrupting chemical and to investigate deiodinase.

Anwendungen
2,4,6-Triiodphenol wird als jodhaltige Desinfektion durch ein Produkt verwendet, das während der Chlorierung von Abwässern gebildet wird. Es wird auch als potente chemische Störung der Schilddrüse und zur Untersuchung von Deiodinase verwendet.
