Boronic acids react with alcohols, with loss of water, to form boronic esters. With simple alcohols, the products are very susceptible to hydrolysis, but with 1,2- and 1,3-diols, the resulting cyclic boronates (1,3,2- dioxaborolanes and 1,3,2-dioxaborinanes) are stable enough to be isolated.

Anwendungen
In einer Reaktion mit Alkohol bilden Boronsäuren unter Verlust von Wasser Boroniester. Bei einfachen Alkoholen sind die Produkte sehr empfindlich gegenüber Hydrolyse, aber mit 1,2- und1,3-Diolen sind die resultierenden zyklischen Borate (1,3,2-Dioxaborolan und 1,3,2-Dioxaborinan) stabil genug für eine Isolation.

Löslichkeit
Schwer mischbar mit Wasser.

Hinweise
Bei Raumtemperatur lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
