4-Hydroxyphthalic acid is used as a precursor to prepare 3,5-dichloro-4-hydroxyphthalic acid using the reagent aqueous acetic acid and chlorine. Further, it is also used as a starting material in the manufacture of N-(4-carboxyphenyl)-4-acetoxyphthalimide.

Anwendungen
4-Hydroxyphthalsäure wird als Vorstufe zur Herstellung von 3,5-Dichlor-4-Hydroxyphthalsäure mit der wässrigen Essigsäure und Chlor des Reagenz verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es auch als Ausgangsmaterial bei der Herstellung von N-(4-Carboxyphenyl)-4-acetoxyphthalimid verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Leicht mit Wasser mischbar.
