Anwendungen
5-Chlor-2-(2,4-Dichlorphenoxy)phenol, wirkt als Bakteriostat und Konservierungsmittel für kosmetische und Waschmittelzusammensetzungen. Es wird auch als Antiseptikum, Desinfektionsmittel und Antikonvulsivum verwendet. Es ist eine der Hauptinhaltsstoffe in Shampoos, Deodorants, Zahnpasten, Mundspülungen und Haushaltsreinigungsprodukten. Es hemmt das Wachstum von Bakterien und Pilzen auf Textiloberflächen und verleiht damit Wolle, Synthetik, Mischungen und Vliesstoffen einen Geruchsschutz.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Ethanol, Methanol, Diethylether und Natriumhydroxid-Lösung (1 M). Schwer in Wasser löslich.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Zersetzt sich beim Erhitzen. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
