(-)-alpha-Pinene, 98%, cont. variable amounts of enantiomer, is used in food and beverage (incl. additives, contaminants), fragrance / essential oil, nutraceutical. It is also used as a anti- infective agent. It is used as a component of pine resin and a useful chiral synthetic intermediate. Alpha-pinene is the most widely encountered terpenoid in nature and is highly repellant to insects.

Anwendungen
(-)-alpha-Pinen, 98 %, kont. variable Enantiomermengen, wird in Lebensmitteln und Getränken (einschließlich Additiven, Verunreinigungen), Duftstoffen/ätherischen Ölen und Nutrazeutika verwendet. Auch in Desinfektionsmitteln enthalten. Bestandteil von Pinienharz und nützliches chirales synthetisches Zwischenprodukt. Alpha-Pinen ist das häufigste natürliche Terpenoid und ein starkes Insektenschutzmittel.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Chloroform, Ether, Alkohol und Methanol. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Hinweise
Lichtempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Von Hitze und Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten.
