Dansyl chloride is a fluorogenic reagent used for protein, N-terminal amino acid and peptide detection by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). It is also used to determine the degree of labeling in chymotrypsin and ovalbumin. It acts as a precursor for the synthesis of other derivatives like dansyl amide.

Anwendungen
Dansylchlorid ist ein fluorogenes Reagenz, das für die Detektion von Proteinen, N-terminalen Aminosäuren und Peptiden mittels Umkehrphasen-Hochleistungsflüssigchromatographie (HPLC) verwendet wird. Es kommt auch bei der Bestimmung des Markierungsgrads bei Chymotrypsin und Ovalbumin zum Einsatz. Es dient als Vorläufer für die Synthese anderer Derivate wie Dansylamid.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Dimethylfluorid, Aceton, Chloroform, Pyridin, Benzol und Dioxan. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Basen.
