Rinderserumalbumin (BSA) ist ideal für die Stabilisierung von Enzymen bei Lagerung und für enzymatische Reaktionen, bei denen das Fehlen von Nukleasen unerlässlich ist. BSA erhöht die PCR-Ausbeute bei Templates mit niedrigem Reinheitsgrad. Das Anhaften von Enzymen an Reaktionsgefäßen und der Oberfläche von Spitzen wird ebenfalls verhindert.
