The Human Interleukin 17 Receptor (Hu IL-17) ELISA quantitates Hu IL-17 in human serum, plasma, or cell culture medium. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant Hu IL-17. Principle of the method The Human IL-17 solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the amount of the target bound between a matched antibody pair. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are then added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody. The sandwich is formed by the addition of the second (detector) antibody, a substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody-target complex to produce measurable signal. The intensity of this signal is directly proportional to the concentration of target present in the original specimen. Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) ist ein proinflammatorisches Zytokin, das von aktivierten T-Lymphozyten sezerniert wird. Es ist ein potenter Induktor für die Reifung von CD34-positiven hämatopoetischen Vorläufersubstanzen in Neutrophilen. Il-17RA ist ein allgegenwärtiges Typ-I-Membran-Glykoprotein, das mit geringer Affinität an IL-17A und IL-17F bindet. Il-17A und sein Rezeptor spielen eine pathogene Rolle bei vielen entzündlichen und Autoimmunerkrankungen wie rheumatoider Arthritis. Defekte in IL-17RA sind die Ursache für die familiäre Candidiasis Typ 5 (CANDF5), eine seltene Erkrankung mit veränderten Immunreaktionen und eingeschränkter Klärung von Pilzinfektionen.
