  • Phenol ist nützlich zur Extraktion von Virus-, Plasmid- und Phagen-DNAs und zur Solubilisierung und Dissoziation von Proteinen.
  • Es wird als allgemeines Desinfektionsmittel, entweder als Lösung oder gemischt mit gelöschtem Kalzium usw., für Toiletten, Ställe, Juckreizklärungen, Fußsohlen, Abläufe usw. verwendet. zur Herstellung farbloser oder heller künstlicher Harze, vieler medizinischer und technischer biologischer Verbindungen und Farbstoffe; als Reagenz in der chemischen Analyse.
