tert-Butyl peroxybenzoate was employed as polymerization and cross-linking catalyst. It was also was employed as initiator during  grafting of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy (TEMPO)-4-oxyacetamido-(3 propyltriethoxysilane) to poly(ethylene co-octene and in preparation of conformal poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate) thin films via initiated chemical vapor deposition.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Anwendungen
tert-Butylperoxybenzoat wurde als Katalysator bei der Polymerisation und Quervernetzung eingesetzt. Es wurde auch als Initiator bei der Pfropfung von 2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxyl-(TEMPO)-4-oxyacetamid-(3-propyltriethoxysilan) zu Poly(ethylen-co-octen und bei der Herstellung von dünnen Folien aus konformalem Poly(cyclohexyl-methacrylat) durch initiierte chemische Dampfabscheidung eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Ether, Alkohol, Ester und Ketonen. Unlöslich in Wasser. 

Hinweise
 Gelagert und transportiert als Mischung mit inerten Feststoffen und als Lösungsmittel-Schlamm.
